Artist Profile
The busiest man in DIY punk
If you’ve had any interest in the UK underground hardcore punk scene over the last dozen or so years then you may know him from his numerous bands and projects. These include THE DOMESTICS, who have blazed their way through Europe a number of times (results can be heard on the ‘Live in Oslo’ LP).
Other releases from projects such as BRING THE DRONES, PI$$ER, TOKYO LUNGS, KÖRD VÅRLD, HAZARD PROFILE (often alongside members of legendary underground bands like DOOM, ANTI-CIMEX, and THE SHITTY LIMITS amongst others) and his extraordinary solo album, fill out an impressive worldwide discography.
A renaissance man? A Jack of all trades? A perpetual dabbler? Well, he’s a published (performance) poet , holds a doctorate (after leaving school with little more than A.S. Level English and a deep-seated aversion to authority figures), an occasional soul and reggae DJ, a painter, and the person that popularised (with a small 'p') the term East Anglian Hardcore (now sported in tattoo form by a number of young punks in the area, and emblazoned on t-shirts far and wide)…they don’t call him “the busiest man in DIY punk” for nothing!
Now residing in Suffolk, his upbringing in the ailing seaside town that his East London-raised parents moved to when he was four, has certainly shaped his worldview. This was the place that voted in the first UKIP MP in 2014 and now (at the time of writing) has the odious Nigel Farage standing in the next election), which paints a sorry picture. Luckily, he was long gone by then (“I had to go; it would’ve killed me if I'd stayed any longer”).
