An exploration of free improvisation combined with various strategies of composition and conduction
Inspired particularly by the music of the pianist Cecil Taylor, who always called his bands “units”, THE CAMBRIDGE UNIT brings together an octet made up of some of the finest local improvisers in some new ways. Expect melody, noise, rhythm, texture, and everything in between.
