Emma Rawicz's Cloudwalker

Emma Rawicz is a young musician already lauded for a sound and maturity far beyond her years. This project allows these qualities to shine in the fullest way possible, and will no doubt serve as a launch pad for her further evolution as an artist and as an instrumentalist. Drawing on wide ranging and diverse influences from Nordic jazz and contemporary classical harmony to rock music and Brazilian grooves, the musical material is unique and nuanced.

Cloudwalker is a project that builds yet further on this reputation, with utter commitment to improvisation and spontaneous creation at the heart of her music. The tenor saxophone acoustic quartet is a timeless lineup that has been tried and tested throughout the history of jazz and improvised music. Seeking to make her own unique statement in this format, Rawicz has assembled a formidable and truly international band of Rasmus Sørensen, Freddie Jensen and Marc Michel to explore the boundaries of what is possible in the quartet.
