Cambridge University lunchtime concert
Five of the best classical instrumentalists compete for a chance to perform a concerto with the flagship Cambridge University Orchestra.
Programme:
- Pyotr Tchaikovsky - Violin Concerto (mov. 1)
- Maurice Ravel - Concerto for Left Hand (complete, orchestral introduction omitted)
- Carl Maria Von Weber - Clarinet Concerto No. 2 (mov. 2 & 3)
- Sergei Rachmaninov - Piano Concerto no. 2 (mov. 3)
- Alexander Arutiunian - Trumpet Concerto (complete)
- Franz Liszt - Piano Concerto No. 1 (mov. 2, 3, & 4)
The judges will be:
- David Pickard (Chair)
- Laura Van Der Heijden (Cello)
- Melanie Ragge (Oboe)
- Joseph Middleton (Piano)
The Cambridge University Lunchtime Concert series offers a vibrant stage for students and local performers. Open to the public every Tuesday during the University of Cambridge term, these complimentary concerts are well attended. CULCs are curated by a student committee and supported by the Centre for Music Performance.
