Annual Choirs Festival

Ely Cathedral, 9 May 2026

2pm Rehearsal, 5pm Festal Service

The Cambridge and Ely Church Music Group welcomes singers to join the combined choirs and Cathedral Choristers led by Edmund Aldhouse, Director of Music at Ely Cathedral.

All singers and choirs are welcome.

Choirs and individual singers are invited to sing alongside the Cathedral Choir in a festival service giving thanks for the musical contributions of three composers who have significant anniversaries in 2026: SS Wesley, Charles Wood and Benjamin Britten.

The centrepiece for the service will be Wesley’s magisterial anthem, Ascribe to the Lord. The music will be led by Edmund Aldhouse.

An optional additional rehearsal will be held in the Cathedral on Monday 27 April at 7.15pm to 9.00pm

Cost: £12 or £6 for under 18s.
