Acclaimed English folk singer-songwriter, academic, and author
Dr Polly Paulusma is an English singer-songwriter, academic, and record producer known for her work in contemporary folk music. She first gained international acclaim with her 2004 debut album, Scissors In My Pocket, recorded in her garden shed and released on One Little Independent Records (then One Little Indian).
She has released six main studio albums, including her most recent work, Wildfires (February 2025), produced by Ethan Johns. Paulusma is known for releasing "sister" albums that provide acoustic or alternative versions of her studio records, such as When Violent Hot Pitch Words Hurt (2023).
In 2012, she founded the indie-folk label Wild Sound, which later became a folk imprint for One Little Independent Records.
