Derived from the words 'Rock' and 'Jazz', Raz is an Essex-based originals band seeking to cross musical boundaries, and change music as we know it through their experimentation of jazz, funk, pop, rock fusion.

Raz began as a trio in college and university. In May 2014 they played their first gig in Swinburne Hall, Colchester Institute. This began their journey as a mainly instrumental band. In 2015, Raz began to form a vision of establishing what they are all about - a multi-genre mainly instrumental originals band with the mission of crossing musical boundaries.
In 2016, the band began to record and released their demo CD ‘Parallel Dimensions’ featuring the tracks ‘Candle Light’, ‘Purple’, and ‘Early Riser’. In this same time, their first music video for ‘Candle Light’ was produced and released.
