Colne Endeavour Band

Artist Profile

Charity run organisation and true community band, which welcomes anyone to come along and play and learn an instrument

Colne Endeavour Music Club was formed in 1972 primarily for the disabled or those with special needs. After branching off from the Wingfield Trust (formed in 1960 by Bert Lyons), the Colne Endeavour Band evolved, including wind, brass and percussive instruments.

Any level of ability and any age is welcome. If you have a disability which you may feel has prevented you from learning or playing, then take up the challenge and come along to our rehearsals.

We provide one-to-one tuition, group and band practice. We rehearse at St. Margaret's Church, Stansted Road, Colchester, CO2 8RA every Friday, from 7.30pm - 9:30pm. No need to book, just turn up - you will be warmly welcomed. If you have any questions you would like to ask first, feel free to contact us.

Currently, we perform at churches, residential homes, day centres, garden parties, fetes and BBQs.

Our annual carol service is at St. Botolph's Church, Colchester, which sees people from all over Essex join us. We also perform at the Headgate Theatre and feature in their upcoming concerts programme.

All that we do is free of charge. All that we ask, is that you have an interest in, and an enthusiasm for, music!
